Spokane Chiefs News Release
The Spokane Chiefs have traded goaltender Mac Engel to the Prince George Cougars in exchange for a fourth round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
"We made the decision to move forward with Eric Williams and Garret Hughson as our goaltenders," Chiefs General Manager Tim Speltz said. "Mac is a veteran goaltender and deserves an opportunity to play in the WHL and Prince George will provide him with that."
Engel went 42-28-3-4 as a Chief in 88 career appearances. In 2011-12, Engel went 28-19-1-3. His 28 wins were 10th in the WHL. He was named the WHL's Goaltender of the Month for February, 2011 as he posted a 9-2-0-0 record with two shut-outs, a 1.83 GAA and .930 save percentage.
After a home-and-home series with Seattle on Tuesday and Friday (in the Spokane Arena) the Chiefs will play Prince George three straight times, including Saturday night's home game. Spokane will travel to Prince George next Tuesday and Wednesday, October 23rd and 24th.
Tickets for all home games are available by calling the Chiefs office at (509) 535-PUCK (7825) and TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT (7328).
