OKC Energy FC News Release

Energy FC (7th, 5-4-4, 19 points) head to Albuquerque to take on the Western Conference Leaders, New Mexico United (1st, 6-1-6, 24 points), in the USL Championship's Game of the Week broadcast on ESPNews. A sold-out crowd of around 15,000 is expected to create a raucous environment for OKC's first-ever match against the expansion club. Energy FC are coming off a 0-0 draw last Saturday against LA Galaxy II thanks in large part to Cody Laurendi. The goalkeeper's late-game heroics earned him a spot on the bench on the USL Championship's Team of the Week. United, the highest scoring team in the league, had the weekend off. New Mexico's Kevaughn Frater and Santi Moar lead the league with 10 and nine goals each, respectively.

Energy FC will be without a few key members of the squad over the coming weeks as Alvin Jones (Trinidad and Tobago), Je-Vaughn Watson (Jamaica), and Mekeil Williams (Trinidad and Tobago) have been called up to represent their national teams in preparation for the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup. Cordell Cato (Trinidad and Tobago) will meet up with the national team after Wednesday's match.
