
Emeralds Go Even in the Series against Hillsboro

The Emeralds fell short in the series finale in an attempt to win the series against the Hillsboro Hops 9-4.
In the second inning, an RBI double by 3B Luis Toribio drove in LF Jairo Pomares to give them their only lead 1-0.
An inning later, a two-run home run by CF Hunter Bishop increased their lead to 3-0.
The first run of the game for the Hops came in the fourth on an RBI sacrifice fly by DH Danny Oriente to drive in 3B A.J. Vukovich made it 3-1.
In the next inning, an RBI single by 2B Cam Coursey drove in CF Fox Semones to inch closer 3-2.
Two innings later, the Hops collected the lead by scoring three runs on a two-RBI single by Oriente to score C Caleb Roberts and RF Neyfy Castillo along with an error by RHP Jake Wong to allow Oriente to score 5-3.
The Emeralds made it a one-run game on a solo shot by DH Vaun Brown to make it a one-run game 5-4.
The Hops broke the game open with a four-run eighth inning with an RBI single by Oriente to cash in Castillo, a two-RBI double by Semones to drive in Oriente and LF Channy Ortiz and an RBI triple by SS Jordan Lawlar to score Semones to finish the scoring 9-4.
The Emeralds will start a six-game series on Tuesday against the Spokane Indians before the All-Star break. First pitch is at 6:35 PM, 6:20 pregame show on 95.3 The Score and on MiLB.TV.
