Eugene Emeralds News Release
EUGENE, OR - When the staff of the Eugene Emeralds Professional Baseball team returned home from Winter Meetings late last week, they learned of the tragic accident involving Lane County sheriff's deputy Drew Wattier and his wife Michelle. The staff works closely with area law enforcement agencies year round and immediately felt a tug on their heart to "do something"!
That "something" turned into the idea to donate 100% of all monies from any 2013 flex book purchased between December 10th and December 21st, 2012. The flex book package includes ten vouchers that can be redeemed for a box seat to any regular 2013 home game, including opening day and July 3rd. The flex books sell for $90 and during the next two weeks all of the money from the sales of the flex books will go directly to the Wattier medical fund.
"The Emeralds are forever linked to the Eugene community, and we are proud to have the ability to support a local family," said Ems General Manager Allan Benavides.
The flex books are on sale now and may only be purchased by calling the Emeralds office at 541.342.5367. If you would like to make a donation, but not purchase tickets, a fund has been set up at SELCO Community Credit Union.
