ELMIRA, NY - Konstantin Kalmikov scored one goal and a pair of assists as the Elmira Jackals defeat the Richmond RiverDogs by the score 4-2. Elmira went out in front just 20 seconds into the match with a goal from Eddy Lowe. Richmond leveled the score early in the second period on a power play goal from newcomer Evgeny Lazarov at 1:23 of the second period. The tie lasted just 11 seconds as Kevin Cooper put the Jackals in front, 2-1. Jarrett Konkle made the score 3-1 in the third stanza. The RiverDogs Dan Vandermeer closed the gap at 3-2 on the RiverDogs second power play in the contest. The RiverDogs pulled goaltender Mike D'Alessandro for an extra attacker, however Kalmikov ended the contest with an empty net goal for an Elmira Jackals victory. With the win, Elmira has now tied the RiverDogs for 4th place in the Eastern Division at 27 points. The defeat has brought the RiverDogs record to 12-20-3. Today's game marked the return of forward Kris Waltz, who has been sidelined since mid-November with a separated shoulder.

The RiverDogs return to the Richmond Coliseum on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 with a 7:05 pm start against the Port Huron Flags.
