Bend Elks News Release
The Bend Elks beat the Corvallis Knights 9-4 Friday night at Goss Stadium in Corvallis. Moorhead State's Aaron Leasher took the Hill for the Elks and threw 6 complete innings giving up 3 hits and one run to the 22 Knights he faced. Leather now has a record of 2-0 with a 1.39 ERA.
Home runs were on the menu tonight for the Elks, with Cooper Hummel sending a grand slam blast over the right field wall in the 7th inning accounting for 4 of the 7 runs put on the score board that inning, putting the Elks ahead of the Knights and never looking back. For good measure the WCL's leading hitter, Tyler Davis hit a solo homer in the 9th, his 3rd of the season.
The South Division leading Elks return to action Saturday night at Goss Stadium with game 2 of the 3 game series against their division rivals scheduled to start at 6:40 PM. All the action can be followed at bendelks.com.
