Bend Elks News Release

The Bend Elks came out flat against the San Francisco seals on Saturday, committing 7 errors and losing to the San Francisco Seals by a final score of 10-5 in non-league action from Vince Genna Stadium on Saturday.

San Francisco scored 3 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd, and 2 in the 5th to help them get going offensively, as they pounded out 12 hits against 4 different pitchers for the Bend Elks. The lead would be 7-3 after 5 innings as the Elks scored 2 in the 3rd as Adam Grantham singled, Turner Gill had a double, and a throwing error from Seals second baseman Isaias Alacantar allowed both men to come around to score. The Elks added 1 more in the 4th inning as Landon Cray singled to kick off the inning, and would come around to score on a 6-4-3 double play with the bases loaded and nobody out.

The Seals added 2 more runs in the 7th and 1 in the 8th, with both runs in the 7th coming off of a 2 run home run from Alcantar off of Elks reliever Cory Mack, the 2nd home run for San Francisco in the ballgame, to take a 9-3 lead, extending it to 10-3 in the 8th as an error and a passed ball lead to a run for the Seals.

After pitching a scoreless top of the 9th, Tanner Ring came through with a 2 run home run in the bottom of the 9th inning, but it was too little too late for Bend, dropping the non-league contest.

The Central Oregon Bucks and San Francisco Seals will play a 7 inning contest beginning at 2:05 p.m., to be followed by a 9 inning affair between the Seals and the Elks, first pitch scheduled for 5:05 p.m.
