Kelowna Falcons News Release
For the first time this season the Kelowna Falcons recorded a series sweep following a 13-7 victory over the Kitsap Bluejackets on Saturday night.
The Bluejackets would take an early lead after a two run homerun in the top of the first inning off Falcons' starter Nolan Savage.
The offense would respond immediately when Darren Kolk scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the first which cut the lead in half.
In the bottom of the second the Falcons would take their first lead of the game when Preston Gray doubled home AJ Young. Two batters later, Cody Scaggari would drive in Gray with a double of his own to give the Falcons a 3-2 lead.
Then in the third the Falcons would erupt for seven runs sending 11 men to the plate. Six of their runs would be unearned as the Bluejackets committed three errors in the inning. Young, Gray, Scotland Church, Scaggari and Nathan Robertson would all record RBIs during the rally.
After the Bluejackets scored twice in the top of the fifth, the Falcons bounced back with three more runs in the bottom of the inning. Reed Lavallee recorded his eighth RBI of the season before Grayson Porter hit a two run homerun, his fourth of the summer.
The Bluejackets would outhit the Falcons 11-10, however committed five errors, leading to seven of the Falcons 13 runs.
Savage (4-1) would last five innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, while striking out three.
The Falcons will now embark on a six game road trip through Wenatchee and Kitsap before the All-Star Break. They don't return home until Saturday July 27 to host the Bellingham Bells.
