The Salt Lake Bees scored single runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings but could not catch El Paso in the Chihuahuas' 8-7 win Saturday. The Chihuahuas have won two of their last three games.

El Paso's six-run fifth inning was key to Saturday's win. The Chihuahuas sent nine batters to the plate in the rally and set a season high for runs in an inning.

Carlos Asuaje went 1-for-4 with three RBIs Saturday, including a two-run triple, his second triple in as many games. Rafael Ortega went 3-for-5 with an RBI and has now reached base seven times in the first two games of the series combined. Franchy Cordero, Collin Cowgill, Diego Goris and Tony Cruz also had two hits for El Paso.

Chihuahuas starter Walker Lockett advanced his record to 3-1 after pitching five innings and allowing three earned runs. Phil Maton came in with the bases loaded and no outs in the eighth and only one run scored. Maton then pitched the ninth also to seal his first multi-inning save of the year.
