FirstEnergy Stadium â The Eastern League All-Star Game will be played on Wednesday, July 16 at New Britain (CT) Stadium, the home of the New Britain Rock Cats. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM and the game will be broadcast live on Comcast SportsNet, Philadelphia, at 7:00 PM.
The Reading Phillies will be represented by pitchers Taylor Buchholz and Seung Lee, outfielder Jeff Inglin and shortstop Anderson Machado.
This will be the first E.L. All-Star game since 1990. From 1954-1990 the E.L. All-Star Game was an annual tradition. From 1991-2002, the E.L. All-Star Game took a hiatus while all three Double-A leagues (Eastern, Southern and Texas) combined for the Double-A Association All-Star Game. That game put National League Stars vs. their American League counterparts. The E.L. All-Star Game will be between Stars from the Northern and Southern Divisions. Reading plays in the Southern Division.
Reading resumes it's Eastern League season on Thursday, July 17 with a 6:05 PM doubleheader vs. the Bowie Baysox. There will be post-game Sovereign Bank Thursday Night Fireworks.
