Eight Sidekicks Score in 10-3 Victory Over Monterrey

DALLAS - The Dallas Sidekicks had goals from eight different players in a 10-3 victory over the Monterrey Fury at Reunion Arena Friday evening.

Leo Pernia led the Sidekicks (16-12) with four points on a goal and three assists. He also added three blocks. Chad Deering and Mark Rowland each tallied twice. Ricardinho also had three points on a goal and two assists. He now has 12 goals and 16 assists on the season for 28 points, one off Kevin Smith's rookie record of 29 points during the 1984-85 season.

The Sidekicks led 4-2 at the half before running away with five unanswered goals. Martin Nash, Deering, and Beau Brown score in the third quarter. Rowland followed with fourth period tallies at 5:13 and 7:50. Genoni Martinez found the net for Monterrey (7-18) at 11:48 to interrupt the run. Deering followed with the final goal for Dallas, hitting the empty net at 13:34.

Dallas held an early 2-0 lead after Ricardinho assisted Leo Pernia at 7:00 of the opening quarter. The second score was a reversal of roles from the first goal of the game at 4:41. Marco Coria got the Fury on the board with a restart goal at 7:43. The Sidekicks finished the first with two goals within 11 seconds when Patrick Shamu tallied a power play goal at 14:06 and Sinisa Alebic netted at 14:17. Octovaio Perez had the only goal of the second quarter at 8:36 to pull the Fury within a pair at intermission.
