The Norfolk Tides return to Harbor Park Thursday night, fresh off an eight-game road trip that saw the Tides go 6-2. The Tides won three of four from the Syracuse SkyChiefs, then won the final three games of their four game series with the Pawtucket Red Sox to finish the month of May with a 15-12 record. The Tides will be home for 16 of the next 20 games, with exciting promotions lined up every night at Harbor Park! MILLEDGE RECALLED TO NEW YORK
On Tuesday, May 30, the Mets recalled Tides outfielder Lastings Milledge to New York, and the 21-year-old made his major league debut that night against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Milledge went 1-for-4 in the game, collecting a double in the 7th inning off of Miguel Batista for his first major league hit.
Milledge, who turned 21 on April 5th, was batting .291 (53-182) with 32 runs scored, 16 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 19 RBI with 32 walks along with eight stolen bases in 50 games for the Tides.
He was was New York's first round (12th overall) selection of the 2003 First Year Player Draft from Lakewood Ranch High School (Bradenton, FL).
