
Ehambe Helps Energy Defeat Sioux Falls

Des Moines, IA March 17, 2014 - The Iowa Energy defeated their Central division rivals, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, on Monday night 129-121 at Wells Fargo Arena.
The two rivals battled back and forth in the first quarter, as Washington Wizards assignee Glen Rice Jr. and the Skyforce's Henry Walker traded baskets. Walker scored 12 of his game high 31 points in the first, and Rice Jr. had 15 of his 23 points in the quarter. Iowa led 30-28 after one.
The Energy got help from their bench in the second quarter, as Austin Freeman and Moses Ehambe combined to shoot 7-9 from behind the arc. Ehambe had 15 of his team high 27 in the quarter and helped give Iowa the 71-61 halftime lead.
The Energy held steady in the third quarter. Ehambe hit a long two at the buzzer to give Iowa the 98-86 lead heading into the final quarter.
Sioux Falls made their push in the fourth, going on a 23-8 run to give them the 111-110 lead with 5:13 to go in the game. Tre Kelley helped surge the run, scoring 10 of his 26 points in the quarter. The Energy pulled away behind three point baskets from Ehambe and Jeffers to give Iowa the 129-121 victory. The Energy improve to 24-17 on the year and move into second place in the Central division. Sioux Falls drops to 25-19.
The Skyforce were led by Walker's 31 points. He also added 8 boards and 5 steals. Kelley added 7 assists and 5 boards to his 26 points. Anthony Mason finished with 21 points and 10 boards. Craig Smith added 18 points off the bench.
Ehambe's 27 points led Iowa. Rice Jr. finished with 23 points, 10 boards, and 4 steals, shooting a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line. Augustus Gilchrist and Austin Freeman added 16 points each off the bench. Curtis Stinson continued his streak of double digit assists, finishing with 6 points and 10 assists.
The Energy will take on the Tulsa 66ers on Thursday night at 7 PM on Powerade Fit Night. Students can fill out a form on the Energy's website for a free ticket to the game. There will also be a growth chart giveaway, presented by Mercy Children's Center.
