Edmonton Signs RB Brown

EDMONTON - The Edmonton Elks announced Wednesday that they have signed American running back Kevin Brown to a two-year contract.

The South Carolina native played in seven games with the Double E after signing as a free-agent on Sept. 1. Brown registered 486 yards on 74 carries, finishing second on the team in rushing behind Taylor Cornelius and ranked fifth on the team in receptions, catching 24 passes on 26 targets for 176 yards.

The Incarnate Word product got his first CFL start on Oct. 1 against the Montreal Alouettes and scored his first CFL touchdown against the Argos in Week 19.

The Elks concluded their regular season schedule with a 31-14 loss to the B.C. Lions at The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium last Friday.
