Edmonton Eskimos vs Hamilton Tiger-cats
Published on July 15, 2004 under Canadian Football League (CFL)
Edmonton Elks News Release
Game Overview: Back on the winning track after an 0-3 start, the defending Grey Cup champions take on a revamped and solid Hamilton Tiger-Cats team. Easily the surprise of the east in 2004, Hamilton comes in with a lofty 3-1 record and the league's hottest quarterback, Danny McManus. The Esks defense didn't give up a touchdown last week against BC and they'll need more of the same against the CFL's leader in passing yardage and touchdowns.
Watch for:
QBs: Jason Maas has enjoyed a good season so far and is second in the CFL for passing yardage (1148) and completion percentage (67.2).
Backfield: Last week, Mike Pringle established a new CFL record for yards from scrimmage (19,000) and looks primed to have another big game.
Receivers: It could be another air battle in Commonwealth as Edmonton's high octane pass catchers Terry Vaughn, Mookie Mitchell, Ed Hervey and Jason Tucker are the class of the CFL.
Promotions: Fans who bought a hamburger at the home opener in June are reminded to redeem their ticket voucher for Saturday's tilt early and avoid the rush on game day.
