Edmonton, July 6, 2004 â The Edmonton Aviators Men (2W-6D-4L as of July 5) play their fourteenth game of the season on July 8th (7pm MST) against the Portland Timbers (8W-0D-5L) at PGE Park.
The Portland Timbers currently sit in second place in the Western Conference with 24 points from 13 games played. In those 13 games, the Timbers have scored 25 goals while surrendering 17.
Forward Alan Gordon is leading the A-League in points this season with 23 points, including 11 goals, in just 13 games played.
Byron Alvarez is seventh in the league with 14 points in 11 games played. Alex Bengard has three goals and three assists for nine points.
The Timbers have not been as strong as they'd like to be defensively this season. Goalkeeper Josh Saunders has a goals against average of 1.193 while back-up goalkeeper Bayard Elfvin has a goals against average of 2.250.
