Edmonton Aviators News Release
ROBSTOWN, TEXAS â The Coastal Bend Aviators rode an incredible pitching performance from J.J. Trujillo to a 3-0 win over the Edinburg Roadrunners.
Trujillo (1-0) tossed a one-hitter, striking out 12, on the way to his first win of the season. After giving up a hit to the first batter of the game, Trujillo went the distance not giving up another hit. Trujillo only walked one batter.
Angel Rohena hit his first home run of the season in the second inning, a two run shot, giving the Aviators all the offense they needed.
Julio Ruiz (0-1) took the loss giving up three runs in five innings of work.
The Aviators continue the series 7:05 on Saturday at Fairgrounds Field against Edinburg. Krazy slipper night (wear a slipper hat and receive one dollar off any ticket), magnetic schedule giveaway and performances from the Krazy Characters entertainment act are scheduled for Saturday.
