Fort Worth Cats News Release

Edinburg starter Adam Tullo (3-2) fanned 12 Fort Worth hitters in his six inning shutout outing in Thursday's 6-0 win over the Cats at Edinburg Stadium.

Tetsuya Iwasaki and Ryan Smith each pitched an inning of relief for Tullo and had a strikeout each.

Roadrunners' left fielder Stantrel Smith was the headline of the run support for Tullo, finishing 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a run batted in.

Cats' third baseman Jon Dziomba was one of three Fort Worth hitters to get a hit and was the only one to have multiple hits, going 2-for-3 with two singles.

Tullo's Fort Worth counterpart Blake Parry (3-2) also pitched six innings in the game but allowed six runs on nine hits.

With the win, the Roadrunners extend their lead over the Cats in the United League standings to 4.5 games. Edinburg will return home for a four game series with the last-place McAllen Thunder and Fort Worth will head south to Harlingen for a four game set with the second-place Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings. The Cats are only a game back of the WhiteWings for second place.

Game one of the four game series will be at 7:05 p.m. on Friday night at Harlingen Stadium.
