
Wings Defeat Thunder in Walk-Off

Harlingen, Texas - The McAllen Thunder (21-39) dropped a heart breaker to the Rio Grande Valley White Wings (34-25) in walk-off fashion on Thursday night, pulling out a 6-2 victory at Harlingen Field.
Luis Noel kept the McAllen Thunder off the board during his eight innings of work. Noel struck out six and allowed no walks and four hits.
A walk-off blast by Salvador Paniagua gave the Rio Grande Valley White Wings the win. Paniagua racked up four RBIs on one hit in the ninth inning for the White Wings.
Nick Lenzendorf improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings while throwing a scoreless inning.
Yunier Colon (1-2) took the loss for the McAllen Thunder allowing three runs on one hit which was to Paniagua in the ninth inning.
Yasser Gomez contributed with two hits in four plate appearances while driving in a run in the ninth inning, which made it a 2-1 game. Nathan Tomaszewski drove in the game-tying run to set up the walk-off the Wings for their walk-off win.
The Thunder will start two game series with the Edinburg Roadrunners as the home at Edinburg Baseball Stadium with the first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
