PETERSBURG, VA - The Edenton Steamers and Petersburg Generals were rained out tonight in what was to be the first meeting of the two northern division rivals of the season.
A double header consisting of two seven inning games has been scheduled to take place at Petersburg Sports Complex on June 19th to make up tonight's game.
The Steamers have an off day Saturday before traveling to Wilson on Sunday to play the Tobs for the fourth time in the Coastal Plain Leagues young season.
The Generals Welcome in the Outer Banks DareDevils tomorrow to Petersburg Sports Complex.
The Edenton Steamers compete during the summer at Historic Hicks Field in downtown Historic Edenton, North Carolina. Heading into its 15th season, the Coastal Plain League features 15 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. The CPL has had over 800 alumni drafted and 44 alums make their Major League debut thus far.
