Travs right hander Eddie McKiernan has been named Texas League Pitcher of the Week for August 1 through August 7 becoming the third Travs pitcher to win the weekly award.
After McKiernan's 9-inning complete game gem on Saturday at Northwest Arkansas, he finished the week 2-0 with a 1.10 ERA allowing just 2 runs in 16.1 innings and a .113 batting average. He walked 2 and struck out 15 in victories over the Naturals and Springfield Cardinals.
Previously Matt Shoemaker has won the TL weekly pitchers award three times while Orangel Arenas owns one award.
