ECU Receiver Trevon Brown Signs with the Cobras

January 6, 2021 - National Arena League (NAL) - Carolina Cobras News Release

GREENSBORO - The Carolina Cobras announce the signing of wide receiver Trevon Brown. Brown enters his rookie season of Arena Football.

Trevon Brown (6'2, 215) competed for NFL scouts at ECU's pro day in 2019 and was invited to compete in the XFL summer showcase. He was one of 42 players selected from the NFL draft class to compete for a XFL roster spot.

During his career at ECU (2014-2018), he caught 74 passes for 1,123 yards, capturing nine touchdowns for the Pirates. Brown also served as a threat on special teams returning 12 kicks for 225 yards and 12 punts for 88 yards. Following his senior season he was invited to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. In 2017, he earned second team All-AAC honors and won the Pirates Offensive Skill Player of the Year honors while breaking the school & conference single game record for most receiving yards per catch with 270 yards on nine receptions.

Tre is a dynamic player and adds more depth to an already explosive WR group. Again, it is important for us to keep as much talent in Carolina playing instead of losing them to other states. Especially when they can play for one of the top organizations in the country. Tre is a big name locally for ECU fans and college football in this area. We are the best Arena football team in the region to provide a platform for players like Tre to showcase their skills. Tre has the ability to play at the next level, and we are excited to see him along his journey. We have some spots open for camp and players have their next opportunity to tryout for the team next Saturday, Jan 16th in Columbia, SC. Brown grew up in Wilmington, NC where he played for New Hanover High School and was the School's All-Time leading receiver where he recorded 64 catches for 1,2182 yards, and 19 touchdowns in his senior season alone and cemented himself in the record book with 2,601 career yards.
