ECHL Announces Fines, Suspension

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Saturday announced the following fines and suspension.

Stockton's Abney fined, suspended

Stockton's Cameron Abney has been fined suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #672, Bakersfield at Stockton, on March 23.

Abney was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for elbowing under Rule #45.3 at 14:43 of the first period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Abney will miss Stockton's game against Bakersfield tonight.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Utah's Watson fined

Utah's Ryan Watson has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #674, Colorado at Utah, on March 23.

Watson was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for boarding under Rule #41.3 at 2:57 of the first period. He is fined under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
