Ebert Debuts at Home on Tuesday Night

Hesperia native Derrin Ebert will start on the mound on Tuesday night as the High Desert Mavericks host the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes at 7:05.

Ebert signed a Free Agent contract with the Milwaukee Brewers over the weekend and will report to the Mavericks on Monday afternoon.

Ebert, who begins his second tour of duty within Milwaukee's Minor League system, was a AAA All-Star last year with the Indianapolis Indians, the Brewers AAA affiliate in the International League. Ebert posted a 6-4 record with an ERA of 3.50 in 50 games with the Indians.

Ebert's last action was with the Tucson Sidewinders, the AAA affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. He appeared in 15 games with Tucson this season, going 0-1 with a 2.63 ERA before being released from his contract.

Originally drafted by Atlanta in the 18th round of the 1994 draft, the left hander appeared in five games with the Braves in 1999, going 0-1 in five relief appearances.

The Mavericks are home from Monday through Thursday at Mavericks Stadium this week in a four-game series against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Tickets are available for Tuesday night's action at Mavericks Stadium by calling the Mavericks at 246-MAVS. All games this week begin at 7:05.
