EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (Friday, October, 29 2004) – The MetroStars will be facing Eastern Conference foe D.C. United this Saturday, October 30 at 7:00 at RFK Stadium in the second leg of the first round of MLS Cup Playoffs. The 11-12-7 MetroStars finished in third place in the Eastern Conference, two standings points behind D.C. The east-coast rivals have faced off four times in the regular season, with D.C. claiming three victories and the MetroStars one. The structure of the first round is a two-game, home-and-home aggregate goal series, with the team that tallies the most total goals in the two contests advancing to the Conference Final. In the first game of the series the MetroStars lost by a score of 2-0. The "Red and Black" need to top D.C. United by at least three goals in Saturday's game (the second leg of the series) to advance to the next round.
