Galaxy Sponsor Donates $100 For Each Kevin Hartman Save This Past Season

CARSON, CA (Friday, October 29, 2004) - Los Angeles Galaxy corporate partner Farmer John will be making a donation of $11,700 to Maryvale, a Southern California residential treatment facility for children, on behalf of the L.A. Galaxy Foundation, the club and Farmer John announced today.

The amount of the donation was determined after Farmer John, a Los Angeles-based company, pledged to contribute $100 for each save made by Galaxy goalkeeper Kevin Hartman during the 2004 MLS regular season. Hartman, named the team's Honda Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive season earlier this week, made 117 saves during the campaign.

"We are extremely grateful to Farmer John for their contribution to Maryvale on behalf of our Foundation," said Galaxy President and General Manager Doug Hamilton. "Their sense of responsibility and dedication to the community in which they work and live mirrors ours at the Galaxy."

There will be a ceremony prior to this Saturday's Galaxy-Rapids playoff game at The Home Depot Center, at which time Hartman and Farmer John's Sheila Crippen-Thomas will be presenting a check to Maryvale Director of Development Mary Pat Cooper. Farmer John has had a relationship with Maryvale for many years and is proud to contribute to this worthwhile cause.

The mission of Maryvale is to provide early intervention and treatment services to abused, neglected and emotionally disturbed children and their families. The primary focus is residential treatment, which serves as a base for a continuum of treatment services from early intervention to aftercare. An Infant and Preschool Center and Guadalupe Center for senior citizens are also operated as services to the community.

The Los Angeles Galaxy return to The Home Depot Center for the second leg of their MLS Western Conference Semifinal series against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, October 30 at 7 pm.
