Tickets will be available at oilkings.ca, by calling (780) 414-GOAL (4625), at the Oil Kings Ticket Office at TELUS Field (10233-96 Avenue) or at the door. Edmonton was tentative out of the gates and unable to mount any sustained pressure as the Warriors plowed their way to a 3-0 lead in the first. Moose Jaw AP Breyden Point tallied on the power play while Cam Braes and Kenton Miller scored the other Moose Jaw goals. Miller's goal came with just 2 seconds remaining in the first period.
Miller would then add a second goal in the first half of the second period to make it a 4-0 lead for Moose Jaw. The 4-0 deficit was the largest the Oil Kings faced in this post season. Minutes later Edmonton would score their only goal of the night. Tyler Maxwell and Stephane Legualt worked a nice passing play ending on a Maxwell one timer that beat Moose Jaw goaltender Justin Paulic. Paulic, a 16 year old goaltender made 28 saves on the night and stifled a potent Oil Kings attack.
In the end, the Oil Kings would give up an empty net goal in the third to make the final 5-1. Edmonton was out shot 26-14 through the first two periods of play and was held to 0 for 4 with the man advantage. Goaltender Laurent Brossoit was solid down the stretch with 29 saves to keep the Oil Kings within striking distance. The Oil Kings franchise record winning streak comes to an end at an amazing 22 games.
