Windsor Express News Release

(CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI) Chris Commons' three pointer at the buzzer rimmed out and the Windsor Express fell 111-108 in overtime to the Island Storm in Charlottetown, PEI on Friday night.

The game boiled down to free throws at the end of regulation and overtime, with both teams having their struggles that would accumulate in clutch moments.

The Storm's Nick Okorie had two free throws with 0.7 seconds left at the end of the fourth quarter, with the game tied 102-102 and missed both, sending the game to it's extra frame.

In overtime, Windsor's Quinnel Brown missed a free throw with just under nine seconds left and after the Island's Brandon Robinson made his two shots from the charity stripe, it forced the Express into a three point shot to tie the game.

Windsor (13-6) shot 62.5% from the free throw line for the game, while PEI (15-6) was shooting at a 64.6% clip.

The Storm held a lead through most of the game, edging the Express 34-29 after the first quarter and took a 54-48 advantage into halftime.

Windsor came back in the fourth, outscoring the Island 27-20, but never took a lead.

Windsor's Tony Bennett had a team high 30 points, while Brown (26 points/12 rebounds) and Commons (12 points/10 rebounds) each had double-doubles.

The win gives the Storm the top record in the NBL and drops Windsor's lead in the Central Conference to two games over London.
