East Beats West In ECHL Skills Competition

(Peoria, Illinois. – Tuesday, January 20) The following are the results from the 2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Skills Competition held Tuesday, January 20 at Carver Arena. A crowd of 6,169 watched the Skills Competition on the eve of the 2004 ECHL All-Star game which will be played Wednesday night.

The Checkers Dusty Jamieson represented Charlotte in the Skills Competition Tuesday night, competing first in the ITECH Rapid Fire competition. Jamieson and Greenville's Chris Lynch shot against Idaho goalkeeper Dan Ellis. Dusty also competed in the ITECH "Breakaway Relay," and again was matched against Idaho's Ellis.

The Checkers will send out a complete game summary of the 2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Game Wednesday night. Fans may also access complete information on the team website at www.gocheckers.com. The ECHL Board of Governors will also meet in Peoria in conjunction with the All-Star game festivities. Checkers President Jeff Longo will represent Charlotte as the teams' Governor at the meetings.

The Checkers will get back to action this Friday night as they open up a three-game homestand by hosting the Greensboro Generals at 7:30 p.m. at Cricket Arena. Charlotte will host the Greenville Grrrowl the following night, Saturday, January 24 at 7:30 p.m., also at Cricket Arena.
