Birmingham Barons News Release


The Chicago White Sox have announced that RHP Clay Eason will be promoted from Birmingham to Triple-A Charlotte. Eason will be replaced on the Barons roster by RHP Mitch Wylie who will be promoted from Single-A Winston Salem. The veteran Eason was 1-3 with a 3.72 ERA and 1 save in 17 appearances for the Barons. He struck out 38 and walked just 13 in 36.1 innings pitched. The Dunn, NC native was an integral part of the 2002 Southern League Championship season as he won two games in the postseason including a spot start in game two of the SL Championship Series. Wylie went 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA in 4 appearances with Winston-Salem with seven strikeouts and three walks.
