Chattanooga, Tenn. - For the first time this season the Smokies (28-22) failed to win a road series, falling to Chattanooga (23-27) 8-4 Monday afternoon and dropping the last two games of the four game series.
The Lookouts knocked Tennessee starter Nick Stocks (3-2) out of the game in the third by sending 12 batters to the plate. Chattanooga scored eight runs in the third on six hits, two errors, two walks, and a hit batter. Wilmy Caceres doubled home two runs and Moseley had two hits in the inning, including a run scoring double that chased Stocks from the game.
Scott Krause hit his fourth home run of the season in the eighth inning for Tennessee. Skip Schumaker hit his first in the ninth.
Tennessee opens a four game series at division leading Carolina Tuesday night at 7:15. Josh Pearce (0-0, 2.57) will start against Aaron Small (2-0, 3.14).
