SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes will host their second annual A&W Root Beer Float Night on Saturday, July 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. PT in the Epicenter Fan Zone prior to the club's first-place clash with Real Salt Lake at Buck Shaw Stadium.

"Dr. Pepper Snapple Group has made a pledge along with the American Bottler Association to help educate our national and local communities," said Marco DiLuca, division cold drinks manager for Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. Any time we can give back to the community along with a great partner like JDRF it makes us feel that we are making a difference to help a worthy cause like finding a cure for juvenile diabetes."

Local celebrities have teamed up with the Earthquakes for the charity event to scoop, pour and serve root beer floats to fans that make a $3 donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. As part of the promotion, each fan that makes a donation will also receive an A&W souvenir cup.

Last year, the Earthquakes raised $5,000 for the American Red Cross and ALS Association as part of the inaugural A&W Root Beer Float Night.
