LEICESTER, England - Chris Wondolowski scored the lone goal in a 3-1 loss against a Leicester City squad that included several first team players Thursday afternoon.
After falling behind 2-0, Steven Lenhart put pressure on the Leicester City goalkeeper, forcing a giveaway that Wondolowski one-timed into an empty net eight minutes after halftime. Ellis McLoughlin had a chance to pull one back in the 90th minute after trialist Matt Luzunaris drew a penalty, but the ensuing penalty kick was saved.
Leicester City grabbed the lead early after confusion in the back allowed Oli Chamberlain to take control at the top of the box with a clear shot on goal. Chamberlain slotted his shot into the net in the eighth minute.
Nathan Hicks doubled Leicester City's lead in the 18th minute and Danny Uchechi knocked in the third with a penalty in the 60th minute.
San Jose will return to California on Sunday. Next up in the preseason action is a trip to San Luis Obispo for a friendly against defending the MLS Cup Champion Colorado Rapids on March 4.
