The Seacoast Mavericks (13-11) jumped out to an early lead on the Torrington Titans (12-13) and captured a 16-4 victory on Tuesday at Leary Field.
With 11 runs in the first three innings, the Seacoast Mavericks left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
A two-run single by Tyler Fortanascio, a two-run single by David Hopkins, and an RBI single by Ethan Joyce during the first inning supplied the early offense for the Seacoast Mavericks.
Dalton Davis had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the third inning and doubled in the seventh inning.
Austin French improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Seacoast Mavericks. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered three hits.
George Lund ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked two and struck out three.
The Seacoast Mavericks pounded the Torrington Titans pitching, as six hitters combined for 10 hits, 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
