Snapping a four game winning streak the Calgary Vipers (15-12) were defeated 9-3 by the Chico Outlaws (9-16) at Nettleton Stadium in Chico, California. Leading 2-0 the Vipers gave up four runs over the middle three innings and another five runs in the eighth frame alone to put the score out of reach. Stephen Whalen (3-2) had his personal three game winning streak snapped by allowing four runs in six innings while Jonny Bravo (2-1) recorded the win by allowing three runs in six and a third innings. Overall the Snakes were only able to muster five hits but Justin Tellam collected two of them with two solo home runs.
The Vipers conclude this seven games in five days series in Chico against the Outlaws on Wednesday June 22nd at 8:00.
Calgary will return home on Thursday June 23rd at 7:05 to take on the Strong Warriors of Maui for Minor Hockey Night. On Friday June 24th at 11:05 AM the two teams will play a Work Day/Sneak out of School Special, on Saturday June 25th at 5:05 before the game a Zumba Guinness World Record will be attempted along with the Inflatamaniacs performing, while on Sunday June 26th at 1:35 it will be Kids Day with the Inflatamaniacs back for a second day.
On Toonie Tuesday June 28th at 6:30 the Vipers will host Jose Canseco and the Yuma Scorpions for 80s Night. Canseco will be available to the media before the game at 4:00. The two teams will also play on Weiner Wednesday June 29th at 6:30 for $5.00 Student Night, on Thursday June 30th at 6:30, on Canada Day Friday July 1st at 1:05 for Baseball Bonanza, and on Saturday July 2nd at 5:05.
The Calgary Vipers will be hosting three Women's Pro Fastpitch games between the USAA Pride and the Tennessee Diamonds August 2nd, 3rd and 4th at 6:30 at Foothills Stadium. Tickets are $16 for the Lower Bowl and $12 for the Upper Bowl. Three game packages are also available for $45 and $33. In addition there will be two skill clinics August 2nd and 4th from 10am - 12pm. Cost is $99 for a Clinic and Lunch or $120 for the Clinic, Lunch and two Lower Bowl tickets. There will also be a Lunch Banquet August 3rd including an autograph session with both teams and a lower bowl ticket to the August 3rd game for $49.95 with keynote speaker Cheri Kempf, the Commissioner of the NPF and an ESPN analyst.
