WEEK IN REVIEW

Wednesday, November 24 Eagles 3 vs. Odessa Jackalopes 0

The Eagles backed by the goaltending of Tyler Weiman won their third straight game at the Budweiser Events Center. Weiman all 33 shots he faced and blanked Odessa for his Central Hockey League-leading third shutout of the season. Three different Eagles scored goals and Ryan Tobler was back in the lineup for the first time since the fourth game of the season.

Friday, November 26 Eagles 4 vs. Wichita Thunder 5

The Wichita Thunder extended their win streak on the road to seven games, defeating the Eagles 5-4 to maintain a perfect record away from home. Jason Flick came up big for the Thunder, stopping 28 of 32 shots, keeping Wichita on the top of the CHL with 24 points (14-12-2). The Eagles were handed just their second regulation loss. Greg Pankewicz continued his scoring streak with one goal and three assists, Riley Nelson contributed a goal and two assists.

Saturday, November 27 Eagles 6 vs. Wichita Thunder 2

The Colorado Eagles again led by Greg Pankewicz pounded Northwest Division leading Wichita Thunder 6-2. Pankewicz had four points on one goal and three assists, and line mate Ryan Tobler, not to be outdone also had four points (1-3-4). Eagles goaltender Gian Baldrica started his first game in seven games and played solid in net, saving 22 of 24 shots. Five different Eagles had multiple points in the game and Colorado gained a much needed two points on the Thunder.

WEEK AHEAD Wednesday, December 1 Eagles vs. Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs 7:05 p.m. MST TV-Altitude, Radio-KKPL

The Eagles play the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs for the first time this season and fifth time in history. Colorado is 2-1-1 against the Mudbugs and 1-0-1 at the Budweiser Events Center. Eagles center Riley Nelson leads all scorers in the series with six points on three goals and three assists. Bossier-Shreveport represented the Northern Conference in the CHL Finals last season in which they lost game seven in double overtime to the Laredo Bucks. The Mudbugs are currently in second place in the Northeast Division trailing the Fort Worth Brahmas by four points.

Saturday, December 4 Eagles vs. Lubbock Cotton Kings 7:05 p.m. MST Radio-KKPL-99.9 The Point

The Lubbock Cotton Kings come to Loveland for the third time in history. Colorado dominated the Cotton Kings last season outscoring them 13-3 in the two games at the BEC and 22-7 overall. Lubbock is currently tied for second in the Southwest Division with the Odessa Jackalopes only five points behind the San Angelo Saints.

Streaks- Greg Pankewicz- Has scored a point in all eight games he has played. He is averaging an astounding three points per game an is riding back-to-back four point nights.

Oakley Player of the Week- Greg Pankewicz was named the CHL Oakley Player of the Week for last week's performance. In three games, he totaled nine points (4-5-9), and now leads the team in scoring.

End of Streak- Brad Williamson's streak of playing in every game for the Colorado Eagles ended on Saturday night against the Wichita Thunder. He was the last player to play in every Eagles game totaling 76 regular-season games, counting the playoffs, a total 80 consecutive games. Eagles left wing Karlis Zirnis has played in all but one Eagles game to date. The only game Zirnis has did not play was Colorado's season opener in Oklahoma City.

Power Surge- After four games this season, the Eagles had not scored a power play goal and were last in the CHL in that category. Since that time, the Eagles have scored at least one power play goal in every game and are now in third place in the CHL (20.3%). Colorado continues to rank first in the penalty kill (90.4%) as they have for much of the season.
