Eagles Nominated for Eight of 14 League Awards, Take Home Two

Chandler, Ariz. - The Governor's Cup champion Colorado Eagles ended a great season on the ice by being heavily recognized at the Central Hockey League's annual Summer Conference over the weekend. The Northern Conference champions were nominated for eight of the 14 league awards handed out at the closing awards ceremony (tied for most of any club), taking home two honors.

For the sixth straight season, Colorado -- who has sold out every game in their history and owns the minor pro hockey record for consecutive sellouts (now at 190 regular season games) -- was named the "Ticket Sales Franchise of the Year."

Also, for the second season in a row, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development Gavin Riches (a Colorado State University alumni) was named the CHL's "Corporate Partnership Sales Executive of the Year."

"These awards and recognitions represent just another example of the all the hard work put in by our staff each and every year," said President & General Manager Chris Stewart. "Our franchise continues to be one of the league's top franchises year in and year out, and that is due in large part to not only our fantastic staff, but our players, our fan base and our community as well."

The other categories in which the Eagles were nominated are: "Game Operations Franchise of the Year," "Merchandising Franchise of the Year," "Communications Executive of the Year" (J.P. Puma), "Ticketing Executive of the Year" (Chris Augusto), "Executive of the Year" (Chris Stewart) and "Franchise of the Year."
