Bucks Crown Baseball Challenge Winners

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks announced Monday the winners of the first ever Bucks Baseball Challenge. The competition was held Saturday (June 6th) at Rangel Park, home of the Del Mar Little League.

In the 7-8 year old age group Giovani Garcia took first place, Roque Salinas took second, while Javier Martinez placed third.

In the 9-10 year old age group Jerry Sepuivela finished in first place, Oscar Vargaz took second, while Sammy Garcia placed third.

In the 11-12 year old age group Mario Garcia took first place, David Garza took second, while Alan Campero placed third.

Nearly 30 players from the Del Mar Little League participated in the competition.

Jeff Bes and Bucky were on hand during the competition, and kicked off the home run derby by taking a few swings.

"We want to congratulate all of the little leaguers who played in the event on Saturday, it was a rousing success", said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "A big thanks also goes out to the Del Mar Little League for helping us put the event on."

The players participated in hitting, throwing, and base running events, with the winners receiving trophies. Each participant received a gift bag, which included a ticket to a 2009-10 Bucks game, a ticket to a 2009 Laredo Heat Soccer game, and a Bucks/Heat Gift Bag.

The Bucks will start their eighth season in the Gateway City in October, and will host the 2010 CHL All-Star game in January.
