Colorado Eagles News Release
WINDSOR, CO- The Colorado Eagles are getting ready for their third playoff trip in as many seasons and have added a couple players to their 2006 President's Cup playoff roster. The Eagles have added amateur Steve Haddon and emergency backup goaltender Josh Lepp to the lineup. Neither player is eligible to play until the Eagles first game of the playoffs on April 1st as outlined in Central Hockey League rules.
Haddon, a 6'1", 190-pound forward from Sarnia, Ontario is the Eagles first of two amateur players allowed on the playoff roster. He played for the University of Manitoba in 2005-06 and had six goals and six assists in 17 games played. Prior to his stint with the Bisons, Haddon led the M.J.H.L.'s Portage Terriers in scoring (second in the league) with 81 points (36 goals, 45 assists) in 63 regular season games. In the playoffs, he excelled and was awarded the M.J.H.L. Playoff M.V.P. The forward was also named to the M.J.H.L. First Team All-Star Team and was twice named M.J.H.L. Player of the Month.
"Going into the playoffs, we are adding depth with a skilled power forward and a goaltender," said Eagles Vice President and Head Coach Chris Stewart.
The defending champions also added their emergency backup goaltender for the 2006 Playoffs by signing Josh Lepp, a 6'2", 198-pound goaltender from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The goaltender has played the last five seasons in the WHL for four different teams including with the Red Deer Rebels for the 2005-06 season where he recorded a 2.19 goals-against average.
