Eagles Ink Amateur Forward Matt Brown

WINDSOR, CO. - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, announced Sunday that they have signed forward Matt Brown to a standard player contract. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound winger is entering his first professional action, after finishing his collegiate career at Mount Royal University with fellow Eagles forward Cam Maclise. In five seasons with the Cougars, Brown compiled 51 goals and 42 assists in 110 contests and served as the team's captain during his final three seasons.

The Truro, Nova Scotia native also enjoyed a five-year career in the QMJHL with the Quebec Remparts and Moncton Wildcats. In 201 QMJHL games, Brown posted 42 goals and 50 assists. He also spent one season with the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the BCHL where he would notch 32 goals and 31 assists in 50 games, while also being named to the BCHL Second All-Star Team.

Brown is expected to be in the line-up when the Eagles return to the Budweiser Events Center to take on the Alaska Aces on Sunday, March 10th at 3:05pm MT.
