Dylan Denomme Scores Hat Trick in 5-4 Loss to Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, TN- Macon Mayhem forward Dylan Denomme scored his first professional hat trick on Saturday, but the Mayhem fell to the Knoxville Ice Bears 5-4.


In a high-scoring affair, there were five total goals from the two teams in the first period. Knoxville took the 1-0 lead, but Caleb Cameron quickly tied the game at 1-1. Dylan Denomme and Knoxville's Berkley Scott then scored less than 20 seconds apart to make it a 2-2 game. Knoxville toon the lead in the final minutes of the period.

Denomme responded with a pair of goals in the second period to complete the hat trick and give the Mayhem the 4-3 lead. Just seconds later, Knoxville's Scott scored to tie the game up.

The Ice Bears took the lead late in third period to take the 5-4 lead. That lead would hold for the remainder of the game, as the Mayhem fell for the first time in their last four games.


Charlie Finn started his fourth straight game, but he could not extend his three-game win streak. He saved 31 of the 36 shots he faced and falls to 13-6-1 on the season.

Macon's Dylan Denomme scored his first professional hat trick in the game and recorded an assist. He now has nine goals, six assists and 15 points in his rookie season.


Macon Mayhem: 24-12-5 (53 points)

Knoxville Ice Bears: 23-15-4 (50 points)


The Mayhem stay on the road for one more game, as they take on the Mississippi RiverKings on Tuesday night before returning home against Knoxville on Thursday.
