Dust Devils Suffer Lopsided Loss
August 5, 2018 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
Salem-Keizer's offense proved to be too much to overcome on Saturday night as the Tri-City Dust Devils (5-7, 23-27) fell 15-3 to the Volcanoes (7-5, 27-23). The Dust Devils rallied to score two of the team's three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning.
The top of the fifth inning proved to be the turning point in the game. Tri-City pitchers Adrian Martinez and Jonathan Guzman combined to allow seven runs to the Volcanoes in the fifth. A pair of Dust Devils each had multiple hits in the loss. Luke Becker and Michael Curry each produced two hits for Tri-City. The last two relievers of the game, Wen-Hua Sung and Joe Galindo, combined to keep Salem-Keizer scoreless over the final two innings.
Right-hander Cole Bellinger will start the series finale on Sunday. Salem-Keizer will counter with left-hander Seth Corry. It will be Soccer Night at Gesa Stadium. Prior to Sunday's game kids were able to participate in a soccer clinic host by the Tri-Cities Alliance. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
