Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils (6-12, 24-32) lost 3-2 in ten innings to the Hillsboro Hops (24-32) on Monday at Gesa Stadium. Tri-City starting pitcher Cole Bellinger had a strong outing for the Dust Devils, allowing only one run in six innings of work.
After trailing by one run since the top of the first inning, Tri-City scored their first run of the night in the bottom of the eighth inning to tie the game. Both teams came away scoreless in the ninth inning, sending the game to extra innings. Hillsboro struck for two runs in the top of the tenth inning, but the Dust Devils took the Hops to the brink in the bottom of the inning. Tri-City scored one run and loaded the bases with two outs in the tenth, but the comeback bid ultimately fell short. Tucapita Marcano once again had an impressive night at the plate, finishing the game with three hits.
The Dust Devils will now travel to Vancouver to begin a three-game series with the Canadians starting Tuesday night. Right-hander Henry Henry will start the series opener for Tri-City. The team will return home on Friday to begin a six-game homestand. Friday's game against the Everett AquaSox will be Faith Night. It will also be a CO-Energy $1 Family Feast Night. Hot dogs, ice cream sandwiches, bags of potato chips and 12 ounce Coca-Cola products will be $1 all night long. Tickets are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
