Dumont Nominated Again For Performance Of The Week

SOUTHAVEN, MS - Mississippi RiverKings forward Louis Dumont has again been nominated for the Central Hockey League's (CHL) "Performance of the Week" award, voted on by fans through the league web site, www.centralhockeyleague.com.

Dumont, a veteran forward for the RiverKings, was nominated for the honor after scoring a shorthanded goal and a game-winning goal in the shootout, as Mississippi knocked off Northern Conference leader Rapid City on Thursday, January 28th. Dumont's shorthanded goal, his 14th goal of the season, came with 4:08 remaining in the final period to tie the game at 3-3.

Dumont's goal in the second round of the shootout became the game-winning goal, as the RiverKings outscored the Rush 2-0 in the shootout session for the 4-3 victory.

The native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada has already won the league "Performance of the Week" award once this season, after a four-goal performance in a victory over the Colorado Eagles on December 4th. The four-goal effort remains the top goal-scoring event of the season in the CHL.

The nominees are for the week are found on the league web site and are for the week ending January 31st. Voting will continue until Monday, February 9th and the results will be announced on Tuesday, February 10th.
