Rapid City's Luke Erickson Wins Weekly Award

(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Rapid City Rush forward Luke Erickson has been voted the winner of the CHL Performance of the Week. The fourth-year professional wins the award after he scored two third period goals in the Rush's 3-2 win over the Amarillo Gorillas on January 19.

The Roseau, Minnesota native ran away with the poll receiving close to 75% of the votes (1,463 votes). Coming in second place was the Laredo Bucks who scored four third period goals in their road win in Rapid City on January 23. During the weekly poll there was 2,011 total votes cast.

The nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week for week 16 of the season for the period beginning on January 25 and ending on January 31 are as follows:

-Corpus Christi's Kevin Beech notching shutout in first game with the Rays on January 31 versus RGV

-Tulsa's Aaron Davis recording four points and a +5 in win over Mississippi on January 30

-Odessa's Mike Ramsay scoring a hat trick in win over RGV on January 27

-Mississippi's Louis Dumont scoring SH game-tying goal and shootout game winner vs. Rapid City on January 29

-Laredo's Kevin Desfosses making 37 saves in 3-1 win over Texas on January 30

Fans can vote for the winner until Monday, February 9 with the winner being announced on Tuesday, February 10.
