
Duff Placed on Inactive List, Rosario Recalled from Rancho

SALT LAKE CITY (July 18, 2008) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has placed catcher Tim Duff on the inactive list and recalled catcher Alberto Rosario to Triple-A Salt Lake from Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.
Duff, 26, was placed on the inactive list after his wife gave birth to a baby daughter yesterday. He is expected to return to the Bees on Sunday. He has appeared in 22 games for the Bees in 2008, hitting .232 with three doubles and three RBI. He has appeared in 30 games for the Travelers this season, hitting .242 with three doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI. The Coatesville, Pa. native signed with the Angels as a nondrafted free agent in 2004.
Rosario, 21, joins the Bees from single-A Rancho Cucamonga where he has appeared in 31 games, hitting .202 with 11 RBI in 2008. The Dominican Republic native returns to Salt Lake after an earlier stint this season, however, he has yet to play in a game for the Bees.
