Long Island Ducks News Release

(Central Islip, NY, October 14, 2004) – The Long Island Ducks today announced their community appearance and event schedule for the fall 2004 season. The Atlantic League Champion Ducks are off to a busy start, as team mascot QuackerJack and popular outfielder Justin Davies will be at several events to lend their support. The QuackerJack Foundation concert series benefiting various Long Island charities at the Boulton Center for the Performing Arts in Bay Shore will also continue its efforts on behalf of the community.

"Our involvement in these events is the single biggest thing we can do to give back to the community of Long Island that supports us each and every year," said Ducks general manager Michael Hirsch. "We are pleased to continue reaching out with these worthwhile events."

In addition to player and mascot appearances, several Long Island students will be participating in the Long Island Ducks & Hofstra's Take a Duck to Class program. Four winnings students were selected during the season based upon essays that they wrote detailing the importance of education and the important role it plays in their future. The winners of the contest will be taking Atlantic League Championship Series MVP Davies to school with them. Davies will also be busy this fall serving as the honorary spokesman for the American Diabetes Association's Long Island Walks. The American Diabetes Association will be holding walks at two Long Island locations, with Davies and QuackerJack on hand at both walk sites to thank participants for their support of the event. Following is a schedule of events for the fall season.
