Ducks Alumni Named to Team Canada

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Former Cincinnati Mighty Ducks center Andy McDonald and goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere have been named to play for Team Canada at the 2002 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championships.

McDonald had seven goals and 25 assists in 21 games with Cincinnati this season. He was recalled December 1 by Anaheim, where he finished the season with seven goals and 21 assists in 53 games. The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder tied Paul Kariya's Anaheim club record for most assists by a rookie and tied for eighth overall in the NHL in rookie scoring.

Giguere, who played 23 games with Cincinnati in 2000-2001, went 20-25-6 with a 2.13 goals-against average and .920 save percentage in 53 games with Anaheim this season. He ranked fifth among NHL goaltenders in goals-against average and seventh in save percentage this season.

The 2002 World Championships run April 27-May 11 in Sweden.
