
Flames Alumni Added to Canadian Roster

SAINT JOHN, NB - Saint John Flames alumni Jamie Wright and Jean-Sebastien Giguere have been added to Team Canada's roster for the 2002 IIHF World Hockey Championship which will run from April 27 through May 11 in Sweden.
Wright split the 2001-02 season between Saint John and the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames and also made an appearance with the Canadian National Team. He recorded 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists) in 34 games with Saint John, registered 16 points (4 goals, 12 assists) in 44 games with Calgary and collected 3 goals in 5 games with Team Canada's silver medal team at the 2001 Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland. Wright also won a gold medal as a member of Canada's National Junior Team in 1996.
Giguere, a member of the Flames from 1997 through 1999, posted a 20-25-6 record with 4 shutouts and a 2.13 goals against average in 53 games with the NHL's Mighty Ducks of Anaheim this season. A member of Canada's 2001 World Championship team in Germany, Giguere also won a gold medal for Canada at the 1994 World Under 18 Championship.
The Saint John Flames are the primary development organization of the NHL's Calgary Flames and have been a member of the AHL since 1993.
