June 8, 2022 - South Atlantic League (SAL)
Greenville Drive News Release
Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive fell short to the Asheville Tourists in a low-scoring affair on Wednesday night with a 2-0 loss. Spencer Arrighetti qualified for the win after tossing five innings while Padron-Artiles suffered the loss after five innings of one run ball.
Arrighetti only allowed three hits and totaled eight strikeouts, while Padron gave up six hits and struck out six batters.
It took seven innings before Fluor Field saw the first run cross the dish, but the Tourists were the first to strike with a sacrifice fly off the bat of Quincy Hamilton to score Luis Santana.
Asheville tacked on an insurance run in the top of the ninth with a sharply hit ball up the middle from Michael Sandle to bring Santana home again.
The Tourists took the second game of the series with a 2-0 win.
The Drive will look to rally in Game 3 of the series tomorrow at 7:05.
